Vera Hesselwood

Vera Hesselwood passed away peacefully on Monday, Oct. 2, 2023 at her home in London, Ontario. She was in her 100th year.

 

Her stories, her laughter and her unconditional love have shaped us into the people we are today. The lessons she taught us about life, family and resilience are treasures that we will carry with us and hopefully impart on the next generations.

 

Vera is survived by her sons Douglas McVittie (Kathy) of Burlington and Randy McVittie (Helen Tritschel) of London, Ontario and her sister Alma Finnigan of Clinton. Vera is also survived by her grandchildren, Susan, Karen, David, Tina, Lauren and Alex, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. 

 

Vera was predeceased by husbands Roy McVittie and John Hesselwood, son Kenneth McVittie and daughter Bonnie Mayhew, and sisters and brothers-in-law Hazel and Harry Watkins, Ethel and Carman McPherson, Weldon Tyndall, William Gordon and Chester Finnigan. 

 

Cremation has taken place and a small private burial at Clinton Cemetery will take place at a future date.

 

There are no goodbyes, just great memories.
