Vaughn Elizabeth Hunking
After a short courageous battle with cancer, Vaughn Elizabeth Hunking passed away on Feb. 13, 2021 at the Huron Residential Hospice (Central Huron) in her 66th year.
Vaughn was the loving daughter of Pat (Anderson) Hunking and the sister of Donna Walsh (Doug Vincent), Joan (Gord) Henderson and Robert Hunking. She is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
Vaughn was predeceased by her father Ted Hunking, brother-in-law Murray Walsh and sister-in-law Kim (Rooney) Hunking.
Vaughn graduated from Central Huron Secondary School with her Grade 12. She progressed through ARC Industries, Goodwill, Leads and became a Page at London Central Library for 30 years. Family, friends, community and church were important parts of Vaughn’s life. She could often be seen attending numerous activities of her nieces and nephews.
Vaughn always kept in contact with relatives near, far and distant. Friends were anyone she met. She could not miss a community event. Vaughn was a regular volunteer at the Blyth Festival. Many people have benefited from her love of knitting. Vaughn enjoyed her church choir. She regularly attended Westminister Weekend. Church was an extended family for Vaughn whether in London, Belgrave, Blyth, Clinton or Londesborough.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private funeral service was held on Feb. 17. The funeral service will also be uploaded to the funeral home’s website for viewing. Rev. Keith McKee (St. Georges Presbyterian Church, London) and Alex Jebson (Blyth United Church) officiated. Spring interment at Hope Chapel Cemetery (Central Huron).
In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy donations to St. George’s Presbyterian Church (London), the Huron Residential Hospice (Central Huron) or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated.
