U15 B Southwest Admirals go undefeated, win gold in Huntsville

The weekend was a good one for at least one Southwest Admirals team, as the U15 B boys returned to Huron County from Huntsville with gold medals around their necks after an undefeated run through the Muskoka Fall Classic tournament.
The team opened tournament play on Friday with a 3-2 win over the South Huron Sabres, followed by Saturday wins over the New Hamburg Huskies (4-1) and the Bruce Grey Bulls (4-0).
The next day, in the semifinals, the Admirals again met the Bruce Grey Bulls and beat them by a score of 3-1 before beating the South Huron Sabres in the finals by a score of 2-1.
In other tournament play over the weekend, the U18 A team was in Waterloo for a tournament, while the U18 B Admirals were in Wingham for the regional Silver Stick Tournament.
Play began on Friday for both teams. The U18 A team lost to the Waterloo Wolves by a score of 4-1 and then again to the Ajax-Pickering Raiders by a score of 2-0, while the U18 B team first beat the Tavistock Junior Braves by a score of 4-2 before falling to the Twin Centre Junior Jacks by a score of 4-0.
The next day, the U18 A team lost to the Kitchener Junior Rangers by a score of 6-1 and then tied the Stratford Warriors at two, ending their weekend. The U18 B team lost by a score of 5-1 to the New Hamburg Huskies on Saturday, ending their tournament run.
In regular season action over the weekend, on Sunday, the U10 A Admirals lost to the Bruce Grey Bulls by a score of 10-3, the U13 B Admirals tied the West Coast White Caps at two in Blyth, the U11 A team lost by a score of 3-0 to the Southeast Surge in Blyth, the U11 B team lost in Hensall to the Midwest 49ers by a score of 5-4 and the U14 A team tied the Bruce Grey Bulls at two in Seaforth.
One day earlier, on Saturday, Nov. 15, the U11 B team beat the West Coast White Caps by a score of 5-1 in Zurich, the U12 A Admirals lost to the Midwest 49ers in Brussels by a score of 3-1, the U10 A team beat the Midwest 49ers in Zurich by a score of 4-3, the U11 A Admirals lost to the Southeast Surge in Brussels by a score of 6-4, the U13 B team lost to the Bruce Grey Bulls by a score of 5-2 in Southampton and the U15 A Admirals beat the Southeast Surge in Brussels by a score of 3-1. The U13 A team was in Chesley to play the Bruce Grey Bulls, but a score for that game was unavailable at press time.
The lone regular season game on Friday, Nov. 14 ended in a 3-3 tie with the U16 A team in Zurich to take on the West Coast White Caps and the only weekday game for the Admirals came on Nov. 11 when the U18 A team was in Chesley to play the Bruce Grey Bulls and won by a score of 5-1.
Throughout this week, on Nov. 18, the U16 A team was scheduled to play the Southeast Surge in Brussels and the U18 B team was in Goderich to play the Bruce Grey Bulls, followed by the U13 B Admirals hosting the Bruce Grey Bulls on Nov. 19, but scores for those games were unavailable at press time.
Looking ahead, it’s a big weekend for the Admirals. The U11 A, U12 A, U13 A, U14 A, U15 A and U16 A teams are all heading to Barrie for the annual Kutting Edge Classic Tournament, with games beginning early Friday morning.
On Friday night, in regular season play, the U15 B team will be in Mildmay to play the Midwest 49ers and the U18 A team will play the Tri-Centre Junior Attack in Clinton.
The next day, the U10 A team will be in Walkerton to play the Midwest 49ers, the U15 B Admirals will host the Bruce Grey Bulls and the U18 B team will play the West Coast White Caps, both in Brussels, and the U11 B team will play the Bruce Grey Bulls in Southampton.
On Sunday, the U10 A team will host the Tri-Centre Junior Attack in Seaforth and the U13 B Admirals will play the Midwest 49ers in Blyth, while the U18 B Admirals will be on the road to play the Southeast Surge.
Throughout the week, the U15 A team will be in Tiverton to play the West Coast White Caps on Nov. 25, followed by Nov. 26 games between the U13 B team and the Southeast Surge in Blyth and the U16 A team and the Bruce Grey Bulls in Southampton and a Nov. 27 game between the U14 A Admirals and the West Coast White Caps in Hensall.
