Sebringville Sting maintain razor-thin lead in Huron County Fastball League standings

The Sebringville Sting are maintaining a razor-thin lead in the Huron County Fastball League standings with three teams breathing down their necks.
The Sting sit at 17 points with a record of 8-3-1, followed by the Mitchell Mets (8-4), Belmore Stingers (8-3) and Brussels Bangers (8-8), who are all tied at 16 points each.
The Wroxeter/Wingham Rippers are in fifth place with a record of 7-7 and 14 points, tied on points with the sixth-place Milverton Millwrights, who have a record of 7-6.
In sole possession of seventh place are the Fullarton A’s with a record of 5-7-1 and 11 points, followed by the Walton Brewers (5-8), Brussels Tigers (5-7) and Goderich Grizzlies (5-8), who are tied with 10 points each.
The Monkton Muskrats are in last place with a record of 4-7 and eight points.
Looking ahead, tonight, Friday, Aug. 14, the Brussels Bangers will host the Belmore Stingers and the Brussels Tigers will be in Monkton to play the Muskrats.
On Monday, the Fullarton A’s will host the Wroxeter/Wingham Rippers and the Mitchell Mets will be in Goderich for a game with the Grizzlies that had originally been scheduled for May 19. The next night, the Monkton Muskrats will be in Walton to play the Brewers and the Sebringville Sting will play the Belmore Stingers in a game originally due to be played on June 14.
The Brussels Tigers will play the A’s in Fullarton on Aug. 20, while the Milverton Millwrights will host the Walton Brewers that night as well. Then, on Friday, Aug. 21, the Monkton Muskrats will be in Goderich to face the Grizzlies and the Brussels Bangers will host the Sebringville Sting.
There are then five games scheduled for Sunday, Aug. 23. The Belmore Stingers will host the Goderich Grizzlies, the Sebringville Sting will be in Wroxeter to play the Rippers, the Belmore Stingers will host the Brussels Tigers, the Rippers will host their second game of the day in Wroxeter, taking on the Monkton Muskrats in a game originally scheduled for May 31, and the Walton Brewers will play the A’s in Fullarton.
Looking back at the week that was, on Aug. 9, the Rippers beat the Brussels Bangers in Wroxeter by a score of 7-2 in a game originally scheduled for June 21. Also that night, the Milverton Millwrights beat the A’s by a score of 10-9 in Fullarton. On Friday, Aug. 7, the Brussels Bangers beat the Wroxeter/Wingham Rippers by a score of 14-7 in Brussels and the Goderich Grizzlies beat the Muskrats in Monkton by a score of 4-1.
In a make-up game from June 16 on Aug. 6, the Walton Brewers forfeited their game with the Stingers in Belmore, while, that same night, the Milverton Millwrights beat the Fullarton A’s by a score of 9-3 in Milverton.
On Aug. 5, the Monkton Muskrats were in Brussels and beat the Tigers by a score of 14-5 and the Mitchell Mets beat the Belmore Stingers by a score of 8-2 in Mitchell.
On Tuesday, Aug. 4, after a short break for the Civic Holiday weekend, the Brussels Bangers hosted the Goderich Grizzlies and won by a score of 11-4, the Brussels Tigers were in Walton and beat the Brewers by a score of 4-0 and the Wroxeter/Wingham Rippers lost to the Sting in Sebringville by a score of 7-0.
On Aug. 11, the Brussels Bangers were in Belmore to play the Stingers and, on Aug. 13, the Wroxeter/Wingham Rippers were in Milverton to play the Millwrights, but scores for those games were unavailable at press time.
