Roelf Harn Jan Bos

Roelf Harn Jan Bos of Grand Bend, formerly of Blyth, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 20, 2026. 

 

He was the deeply-loved husband of Diety Bos-Schipper for 42 years and the dear brother of Dieuwke Schipper-Bos, and brother-in-law of Harm Schipper. Roelf will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, Aafke and Tim, Lia and Grant, and Colleen and Clay.

 

Roelf lived his life in meaningful chapters of 22 years. He was born in Groningen, in the northern part of the Netherlands, and 22 years later moved to Flevoland. Another 22 years later, in 2002, he made the journey to Canada, settling in Blyth, where he began farming chickens and working a cash crop operation. Throughout his life, Roelf remained devoted to the land - a farmer through and through.

 

Keeping with Roelf’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, Exeter, on Saturday, April 25 from 1-3 p.m., with words of remembrance at 1:30 p.m.
