Playoffs wind down for Southwest Admirals teams

By the time you’re reading this, the playoffs will be wrapped up for the Southwest Admirals teams, with playoff series now behind them and the 2026/2027 season to look forward to.
The U10 A Admirals ended their playoff run with back-to-back wins over the Southeast Surge on March 5 in Monkton by a score of 4-2 and on March 8 in Seaforth by a score of 6-1.
The U12 A Admirals ended their postseason with two losses and a win over the Midwest 49ers. The locals lost by a score of 7-3 in Clinton on March 5, followed by a 7-1 win on March 7 and a 3-2 loss on March 8, both in Hanover.
The U14 A team won its last two playoff games of the season, beating the Midwest 49ers by a score of 2-1 on March 6 in Zurich and again by a score of 4-3 in Hanover on March 7.
The U15 A Admirals’ season ended with two 4-1 losses to the Midwest 49ers - first on March 7 in Hanover and then again in Clinton on March 8.
After a 4-2 win over the Bruce Grey Bulls on March 7 in Southampton in their four-game series, the U16 A Admirals then lost to the Bulls on March 8 by a score of 5-3 in Clinton. The two teams were then due to play one another again on March 10 in Port Elgin and again on March 11 in Seaforth, but scores for those games - the only two yet to be played by press time - were unavailable at press time.
The U18 A Admirals won their three-game series with the Bruce Grey Bulls, winning the first game on March 6 by a score of 3-1 in Clinton, followed by a 3-1 loss in Southampton on March 7 and a 7-3 win in Clinton on March 8.
The U11 B Admirals lost the final two games of their playoff run to the West Coast White Caps on March 3 and 4 by a score of 5-3 in Tiverton and 4-3 in Seaforth, respectively.
The U15 B team lost the last two games of their playoff run. They opened their four-game series with the Midwest 49ers with a 3-1 win in Brussels on March 3, followed by a 4-4 tie on the road on March 4 and then a 3-1 loss in Mildmay on March 6 and a 5-2 loss on March 7 in Brussels.
With the playoffs now in the books, some of the teams have only tournaments to look forward to before the next season gets underway.
This weekend, the U13 B Admirals will head to Goderich for Young Canada Week and the U11 B team will be in Listowel for the annual Gord Hymers Tournament.
The following weekend, the U18 B Admirals will take their turn with Goderich Young Canada Week and the U11 A Admirals will be in the Warriors Tournament in St. Catharines.
Then, on the final weekend of March, the U13 A team will travel to Aylmer for the Elgin Thames Minor Hockey Year-End Tournament as the last action on the calendar for the Admirals.
