Peter Campbell

Peter Campbell of RR4, Wingham, passed away at the Wingham and District Hospital on Friday, July 9, 2021. He was 87.

 

Peter was the devoted husband of Isabel (Daer) Campbell and the loving dad of Ron and Judy Campbell, Corbeil; Wayne and Wendy Campbell, Kitchener; Marilyn and Gerry Freiburger, Wingham; Carolyn Henderson, Wingham; Murray Campbell, Bluevale; Dianne Campbell and Doug Newell, Wingham; Brian and Jen Campbell, Wingham and Gayle and Ron Prout, Brussels. 

 

He was the cherished grandpa of many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Peter was the brother of Mary Shean, Bessie Johnston and Lil and Ron Smith and the brother-in-law of Jerry Barrett, Mary and Jim Lavis, Mary Campbell, Ross Daer, Ken and Janice Daer, Nancy Daer, June Daer and Laura Lawrence. 

 

Peter will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents Oliver and Annie (McNaughton) Campbell; brothers Charles, John, Hugh and Colin Campbell; sister Jean Barrett; parents-in-law Bert and Dorothy Daer; brothers-in-law Ed Daer, Fred Lawrence, Lorne Daer, Ken Johnston and Murray Shean and sister-in-law Evelyn “Buzz” Daer.

 

A casual celebration of Peter’s life will be held on Sunday, Aug.  29, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the Wingham Knights of Columbus Centre, Wingham.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the North Huron Food Bank, the Wingham Legion, Branch 180 or the Wingham and District Hospital would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
