Pete van Veen

Pete van Veen of Listowel, formerly of RR3, Brussels, passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Feb. 17, 2024 at the age of 91. 

 

The loving husband for 68 years of Margaret van Veen, Pete was the beloved father of Brenda (Wayne) Linney of Niagara Falls, Murray (Myrna) van Veen of Edmonton, Peter van Veen (Gerry) of Merlin, Bonita (Charlie) Zammit of Malta, Douglas (Grace) van Veen of Bognor and Michael van Veen of Bluevale. He was the cherished grandfather of 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

 

Pete will be missed by his sisters Alie (Garfield) Lee of Gabriola Island, BC, Martha (Case) DeBoer of Goderich and brother Gerrit (the late Helen) van Veen of Brussels. 

 

Pete was predeceased by his sister Clara Van Merkenstein and Agnes (Hank) Ten Pas of Brussels.

 

Special thank you to the staff at Caressant Care Listowel, and to the Palliative Care team at Listowel Memorial Hospital.
A memorial service will be held for Pete at Listowel Bible Chapel on Friday Feb. 23 at 10:30 a.m. Interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ethel will take place at a later date.
