Nelson Earl Caldwell
He came into the world on Oct. 6, 1959 and on Aug. 6, 2018, Nelson Earl Caldwell ended his journey of life, with family at his side. He was in his 59th year.
The proud father of Johnathan (friend Melissa (Missy) Dougherty), Jared of Goderich and Jordon (and friend Harry Sehmi) of Guelph. Nelson also left behind two granddaughters, Alyssa Caldwell and Myah, and special little boy Mason.
He will be missed by the boys’ mother Donna Caldwell of Goderich. Left to mourn are sisters Lorna (Randy) Fraser, Gail Caldwell of Blyth, brother Trent Caldwell of Goderich and half sister Jackie Caldwell of Vanastra.
Nelson leaves behind in-laws Rick Maize, Debbie (Jim) Robertson, Randy (Patti) Maize, Ron (Lori) Maize, Rob (Lavonne) Maize and Chris (Kendall) Maize.
He will be missed by several nieces and nephews, along with his parents Jack Caldwell of Seaforth, and Evelyn Robichaud of New Brunswick.
Nelson was predeceased by grandparents Earl and Margaret Caldwell, Arthur and Gladys Hallam, uncle Gerald Govier, nephew Karl Ulch, his in-laws John and Mary Maize and sister-in-law Diane Maize.
Nelson graduated from Blyth Public School and he attended Central Huron Secondary School in Clinton. At a young age he began working for a living. He worked several years for Art’s Landscaping. Then he worked for and retired from the Town of Goderich Works Department.
He enjoyed karate, snowmobiling, biking, kayaking, music and gardening. When he retired he started painting signs and other artsy creations. Nelson had a big heart, helping family and friends with any job he could. He enjoyed life to the end.
Cremation has taken place with a private family interment at the Blyth Union Cemetery. A Celebration of Life took place on Saturday, Aug. 11 at the Goderich Legion.
