Mark S. Cook
Mark S. Cook, age 63 of Zurich, formerly of Timmins, passed away peacefully at Huron House Hospice in Clinton on Thursday, March 6, 2025 after a lengthy illness.
Mark was a beloved gold miner who dedicated nearly 40 years of his life working underground, a testament to his hard work and perseverance. Away from the mines, he had a deep love for animals, always finding joy in their companionship and care.
He is survived by his daughter Donna, sister Donna (Terry) Woollett of Zurich, brother Ernie and his partner Barbara von der Gonna of Wingham, niece Kimberly Woollett of Caledon, step-siblings Gerald and Christine, Butch, Lorraine, Dennis, Sheila and sister-in-law Linda.
Mark will be remembered by his close friends Paul and Judy Riley.
He was predeceased by his daughter Sallina Cook, father Charles Cook, mother Gertrude Cook, step-mother Doreen Toye and step-brother Danny Beck.
A graveside service will be held at Brandon Cemetery, Belgrave in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a Pet Rescue, Huron Hospice or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
