Madeline Theresa (Benedict) Laffin

At St. Mary’s Hospital on Monday, Feb. 12, 2024, Mrs. Madeline Theresa (Benedict) Laffin of Blyth passed away peacefully at the age of 71.

 

The devoted wife of Harold Laffin, Maddy was the loving mom of her five sons: William and Rachael, Michael and Jess, Matthew and Tiffany, Patrick and Cheryl and Sean and Amanda. She was the cherished grandma of Bria, Jase, Carly, Cole, Cian, Eric, Andrew, Brooke, Jordyn, Lincoln, Natalie, Hope and Emilia. She was the dear sister of Herbert and Karen Benedict and the sister-in-law of Ann Marie and George Desveaux, Eileen and Ray Carrigan, and Patrick and Norina Laffin. 

 

Maddy will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

 

She was predeceased by her parents, Herbert Benedict and Theresa (Halley) Benedict Barrett, stepfather Eric Barrett, sisters Betty Vollmer and Dianne Benedict, brothers Gerald and Ronald Benedict, parents-in-law Patrick and Mary Laffin, and brother-in-law David Laffin and his wife Myra.

 

A celebration of Maddy’s life will be held at a later date with details to follow.

 

Interment will take place at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Blyth, in the spring.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
