Lorna Fay (née Buchanan) Whitmore

Lorna Fay (née Buchanan) Whitmore passed away peacefully at Huronlea Home For The Aged on Dec. 18. She was in her 90th year.

 

The loving wife of the late Doug Whitmore (2007), Lorna was the mom of Ken and Jeanette and Jane and Doug, the grandma of Sara and Katie Ferguson and the sister of Jim Buchanan and sister-in-law of Anne Buchanan.

 

Lorna will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by brothers Bill, Roy and John and sister-in-law Dolores.

 

Lorna always had a smile, especially when she was joking around and spending time with her family. Lorna loved to play with her grandkids, whether it was out in the snow or running alongside them when they learned to ride a bike. 

 

She always wanted to be outside, she loved to walk, either with friends, by herself or with the dogs. Lorna helped as a member of the Blyth United Church and United Church Women (UCW) making pies and attending church for many years. 

 

She worked for London Life Insurance and then in the Blyth Print Shop with her family for over 40 years. 

 

Lorna was very social and loved to chat with everyone. Her smile and conversation will be missed.

 

Friends and family are invited to a come-and-go celebration of Lorna’s life at Riverside Funeral Home’s Blyth Chapel on Saturday, Dec. 23 from 1-3 p.m.

 

In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
