Lois Mildred Andrews (née Wood)
Lois Mildred Andrews (née Wood) passed away peacefully in her sleep at Sunnybrook Hospital Palliative Care in Toronto, Ontario, in her 92nd year.
Lois was born in Londesborough on July 31, 1931, to Edward and Harriet (Hattie) Wood. She grew up on the farm with her younger brother Ken.
She met William (Bill) Andrews while attending high school in Clinton, and they married in 1954. They moved to London, Ontario, where Bill was attending the University of Western Ontario, and Lois worked as a secretary at Supertest. Lois and Bill moved to Toronto and had three children, Greg, Brenda, and Nancy (Jonathan). Lois was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who devoted her life to ensuring her children’s and grandchildren’s happiness and fulfillment.
Celebrating Lois’s life are her children Greg Andrews of Londesborough, Brenda Andrews of Toronto, and Nancy Andrews and Jonathan Thomas of Toronto. Lois will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Dale and Ryan Climie, and Ally and Kara Thomas. She will also be greatly missed by Brenda’s ex-husband and father of Dale and Ryan, Shane Climie of Peterborough, and by Ryan’s partner, Ru Levine of Toronto.
Lois is survived by brother Ken (Marilyn) Wood and in-law Richard (Jan) and is a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Lois was predeceased by her husband Bill, and in-laws Mary (Bill) Murch, Doug (Marian) Andrews, Ruth (Art) Griffiths, Norma (Bob) Draper, Gene (Grant) Rath, Homer (Burnie) Andrews, Oz (Alice) Andrews, Joyce (Grover) Clare.
Friends will be received for visitation at Falconer Funeral Homes - Clinton Chapel on Friday, Dec. 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., where the funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Interment will take place at a later time. Please join the family to remember Lois at the Clinton United Church immediately following the service for a light lunch.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the Millwood Retirement Residence and the Sunnybrook Palliative Care ward for the compassion and support they provided to Lois and all her family. Donations in memory of Lois to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
