Lois May (nee Hesselwood) Govier of Seaforth passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015. She was in her 84th year.
Lois was the beloved wife of the late Robert H. Govier (2003) and the loving mom and mother-in-law of June O’Connell (Nick Pappert), Tillsonburg; Peggy Colclough (Larry), Ardrossan, Alberta; Ruth Boniface (Robert McClure), Vanastra; Ross Govier, Seaforth; Larry O’Connell, Mitchell; Dan Boniface, Hensall and Marilyn Govier, Seaforth. She was the cherished grandmother of 12, great-grandmother of 33 and great-great-grandmother of 14 and the dear sister-in-law of Betty Hesselwood, Fay McClinchey and Dorothy Linden. Lois is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Lois was predeceased by her parents John and Vera Hesselwood and her brothers Reginald, Lorne and Arthur.
Cremation has taken place and memorial visitation was held at the McGlynn Family Funeral Home, Seaforth on Sunday, Jan. 18. A Legion Ladies Auxiliary Service was held after visitation. A memorial service was held in the funeral home on Monday, Jan. 19. Pastor Stephen Hildebrand officiated. A reception followed at the Seaforth Legion, Branch 156. Lois’s urn will be interred in Maitland Bank Cemetery in the spring.
