Klaas Jorritsma

Klaas Jorritsma formerly of RR 3, Wingham passed away at Wingham and District Hospital on Tuesday, June 27, 2017. He was 88. 

Klaas was the beloved husband of the late Jantje “Jennie” (Bakker) Jorritsma who predeceased him in 1996 and the loving father of  Tineke Jorritsma and friend Michael Waldin, Toronto; Annette and Andrew te Raa, Goderich and Klaas and Shelley Jorritsma, Brussels. Klaas was the cherished Pake of Mitchell te Raa and Katie, Janelle te Raa (Brandan), Joshua and Jess Jorritsma and Richelle and Ryan Smith and the great-Pake of Alice, Saleena, and Elsy Jorritsma and Aleah and Pierce Smith. He was the brother of Hendrik and Chris Jorritsma and brother-in-law of Dieuwke Martens, Bakke and Jacobes Cupido, Rein and Grietje Bakker and Anneke Jorritsma.  

Klaas was predeceased by his grandson André te Raa, siblings Anne (Beppe), Steffen, Geertje, Jitte, Sietze, three siblings in childhood, brothers-in-law Jan Bakker (Tryntje), John Martens, and sisters-in-law Janna Reitsma (Sybren) and Wybrig de Haan (Cornelius).

Visitation and the funeral service were held at McBurney Funeral Home Ltd., Wingham on Friday, June 30. Pastor Gary Fischer officiated. Klaas’ final resting place is in Wingham Cemetery.
