Katherine Ann Smith

Katherine Ann Smith passed away peacefully at Huronlea Home in Brussels on April 14, 2025, in her 83rd year.

 

The cherished mother of Fran and Tim DeBlock, and David and Patricia Smith, Kae was the proud grandma of Tyler and Ashley Smith, Lanie-Joy and Brandt, Jenna and Shannon, Nathanael, Hannah, Sarah, Joseph, Matthew, Will and Emma, and James and Brooklyn. She was the proud great-grandma of Silas, Stella, Callum, Zoey, Aubrey, Jaxon, Boaz, Rilla-May, and Zadok.

 

She was the dear sister-in-law of Bill and Pauline Hetherington, Cora Alcock and Ron Clarkson, Joe Smith, and Carol Brandon. She was the aunt and great aunt to many nephews and nieces.

 

Kae was predeceased by her husband Adam Smith (2017), parents Henry and Frances Gackstetter, brother and sister-in law Henry and Sandra (Smith) Gackstetter, father-in-law and mother-in-law Joseph and Laura Smith, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Ann and Ed Steinbach, Doreen and Deb Stewart, Ross Alcock, Louis Thiel, and Linda Smith.

 

Kae loved her family, especially all her grandbabies. She was known for her baking and loved to crochet in her spare time. Kae is happy to be with her Lord.

 

Friends and family were invited to Riverside Funeral Home on Thursday, April 17 for visitation from 10-11 a.m. followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m.

 

Interment will be at St. John’s Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers and as an expression of sympathy, donations to Huronlea Residents’ Council or a charity of choice would be appreciated.
