Jose Alfredo Ariza-Gudiel
Jose Alfredo Ariza-Gudiel, tragically passed away after a car accident on Friday, March 18, 2022. He was in his 32nd year.
Jose was the loving husband of Katrina Ariza-Gudiel (née McIntyre) of Ethel for six years and the proud father of Cielo, four and Prim, two. Jose was the son of Donaldo Ariza and Nora Gudiel and the loving brother of Jhoselin and Ludwin Ariza, his half brother Reyes and his half sisters Mariana and Esmeralda, all of Guatemala.
Jose was the son-in-law of Stirling and Jackie McIntyre, Belgrave and the brother-in-law of Kayleigh and Ian Pearson, Ethel and Alex and Katie McIntyre, Dungannon. He was the loving grandson of grandparents in Guatamala and the loving uncle of Rose and May Pearson, Thomas McIntyre and Zaid Ariza.
Jose grew up in the small town of Jutiapa, Guatemala. He came to Ontario in January 2011, to further his experience and knowledge working in the dairy industry. He had a great passion for cow health and was always looking to improve his knowledge where he could. Jose was hard working and passionate about every job he undertook throughout his career and always went to work with a big smile on his face ready to start the day no matter how early. He was a proud employee of the Los family of Molesworth.
Working on a dairy farm was where Jose met his loving wife Katrina. They have always shared the same passion for animals, farming and hard work. They welcomed their oldest daughter Cielo in 2018. Jose was so proud and excited to become a father. They then welcomed a second daughter, Prim, in 2020 and their family was complete. Jose always referred to the girls as his princesses and loved taking them out for a walk, on his bike and to the farms he worked at to show them the cows and baby calves. He took great interest in and enjoyed spending time on his brother-in-law’s beef farm, where he would take every opportunity to look at the cattle and take pictures with his girls.
He was also passionate about his home of Guatemala and will be remembered for his infectious smile, joyful giggle and his love for Spanish music.
A come-and-go celebration of Jose’s life was held on Sunday, March 27 at the Ethel Community Hall.
Cards of sympathy and donations for a trust fund for Jose’s children can be sent to Box 340, Brussels. (Please make cheques payable to Katrina Ariza-Gudiel).
