John "Jack" Goldwin Knight
John (Jack) Goldwin Knight of Brussels passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at University Hospital in London on Jan. 29, 2021. Jack was born in Grey Township on Feb. 15, 1932. He was in his 89th year.
Jack was predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Donna Knight (Gloor) in 2014.
Jack will be sadly missed by his children Brad and Christine Knight, Mitchell; Steve and Marnie Knight, Brussels and Joanne and Weldon Black, Quispamsis, New Brunswick.
He was the loving grandpa of Janine and Allison, Jamie and Karina, Christa and Mike, Michelle and Curtis, Shane and Stephanie, Deanna and Adam, Andrew and Jessica, and Allison and the great-grandfather of Mia, Alyia, Daxton, Jack, Charlie, Lachlan, and Caleb.
Jack was the dear brother and brother-in-law of James and Dona Knight, Leslie and Yvonne Knight, Harold Knight, Helen Steele, Dorothy Knight and Peter Fischer, Murray and Silvia Knight and Milton and Wanda Dietz.
Jack was predeceased by siblings Wilma Knight, Berva Caryl, Willis Knight, Marilyn Cooper and Ken Knight and in-laws Roberta Knight, Aileen Knight, Jack Steele, Robert Caryl, Barbara Knight, Charlie and Molly Harkness and Len and Pearl Battley.
Jack grew up on the family farm and dedicated his entire life to farming in Grey Township. Until very recently, he was always there to assist during the planting and harvesting seasons and to help with the repair work on the machinery. Jack was a long-time member of the Brussels Lions Club, serving the community for over 50 years. Jack loved his family and was immensely proud of them. He was a kind and gentle soul who will be missed by his community, friends and family.
