Joan Christine Armstrong

Joan Christine Armstrong passed away at Braemar Nursing Home, Wingham, on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2020, one day shy of her 90th birthday.

 

Joan was the beloved wife of Tom Armstrong of Wingham and the dear mother of Marion and Roy Taylor, RR 2, Auburn; Marlene and Merv Baker, Wingham; Noreen Walker, Wingham; Terry and Sheila Armstrong, RR 1, Lucknow and Jeff and Donna Armstrong, RR 4, Clinton. Joan was the loving grandmother of 12 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Joan was the dear sister of Stan and Barb Hiseler, Bracebridge. She was predeceased by her parents Larry and Marion (née McLeod) Hiseler, great-granddaughter Amanda Hardy and sisters-in-law Eleanor Hiseler, Donna Craig and her husband Mel and Mary Taylor and her husband Jack.

 

A private family graveside will be held on Thursday, Nov. 5. Rev. Colin Snyder will officiate. Joan’s final resting place is at Wingham Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Braemar Residents’ Council or the Alzheimer Society of Huron County would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
