Huron Heat teams work towards provincials in April

This weekend, the U7 Huron Heat team will be in Brampton to take part in the annual Canadettes tournament as the girls’ hockey season in Ontario draws to a close.
As the weekend continues, the U18 C Heat will be in London for a playoff game with the Devilettes on March 30, while the U11 BB and U13 BB Heat will have exhibition games on the road, the former with the Lucan Irish and the latter with the Bluewater Hawks.
The next day, March 31, the U11 HL team will have an Easter Sunday playoff game with the Lucan Irish in Zurich.
Heading into April, the U11 BB Heat will have a team-funded home game with the Lucan Irish in Clinton on April 4. Then, the U9 C Heat will be in St. Marys to take part in the Western Ontario Girls’ Hockey League’s year-end tournament, beginning with games against the Woodstock Wildcats and the Lucan Irish.
The next day, April 6, the U9 C Heat will continue their tournament with a game against the Sarnia Lady Sting, while the U7 team will have a regular season game with the Waterloo Ravens on the road and the U13 BB Heat will welcome the Mooretown Lady Flags to Goderich for an exhibition game.
The following weekend, all of the hard work and training of the season will culminate with the Ontario Women’s Hockey Association (OWHA) Provincials in the Toronto area. The U9 B, U11 BB, U11 C, U13 BB, U15 C Huron Heat teams will all be heading east to participate.
Looking back, on March 24, the U9 HL Heat won their game with the North Middlesex Junior Stars on the road by a score of 8-4, while the U11 C Heat lost their playoff game, also with the North Middlesex Junior Stars, in Clinton by a score of 2-0. The U13 C Heat also lost their playoff game in Clinton to the Central Perth Predators by a score of 2-1.
The U13 BB Heat lost their exhibition game with the South Huron Sabres in Clinton by a score of 2-1. The U11 BB Heat played the Ayr Rockets and the U9 B Heat played the South Huron Sabres, both in exhibition games, both on the road, but scores for those games were unavailable at press time.
On March 23, the U7 team was in Sarnia for the Lady Sting’s annual Jamboree tournament. Also that day, the U13 HL team beat the Ilderton Jets in a playoff game in Goderich by a score of 3-0. The U9 HL team lost its regular season game on the road against the South Huron Sabres by a score of 5-2 and the U9 C Heat lost to the Jets in Ilderton by a score of 3-0.
The U13 BB Heat lost their exhibition game to the South Huron Sabres on the road by a score of 2-0 and the U15 C Heat played the Saugeen Shores Storm in an exhibition game on the road, but a score was unavailable at press time.
On March 22, the U13 C Heat beat the Mitchell Meteors in an exhibition game in Mitchell by a score of 1-0. The U9 B Heat hosted the North Middlesex Junior Stars that night in Clinton, but a score for that game was unavailable at press time.
On March 21, the U15 C Heat played an exhibition game with the Ilderton Jets on the road, but a score for that game was unavailable at press time.
