Gwendolyn “Gwen” Gayle Papple
Gwendolyn “Gwen” Gayle Papple passed away peacefully on July 12 at Wingham and District Hospital in her 83rd year.
The loving wife of Bruce Papple for over 40 years, Gwen was the mom of Shelley (Keith) Howatt, Barb (Ric) Gervais, Kent Patterson and Lori Moran-Sands, the grandma of Mike Howatt and Bre Lukash, Matt Howatt and Cailea Slifka, Megan and Geoff Renda, and Kaitlyn and Andrew Tressel and the great-grandmother (Big Grandma) of Makinley and Parker Renda and (G-Gma) of Adeline Tressel.
Gwen was the sister of Harold “Soup” Campbell, Barb and Doug Howson, and Dan and Charlene Campbell. She was the sister-in-law of Betty Campbell, Jim (Janet) Papple, Tom (Dawn) Papple, Don (Jean) Papple.
Gwen will be missed by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is survived by Lorraine and Brian Bromley, Joanne and Pat Flannagan and their families. She will be specially missed by the “old bankers of Blyth”.
Gwen was predeceased by daughter Gayle (1977), brother Ronald Campbell, and in-laws Rose Marie Campbell and Marjorie Papple.
Gwen was an amazing, strong, caring individual who always put family first. A great deal of family vacations and get-togethers were always guided by Gwen.
Gwen dedicated many years of her life to helping others through groups like the Eastern Star, Blyth Festival, Blyth United Church, Blyth Legion, and she left an imprint on the lives of countless foster children. She will be missed dearly and cherished forever.
A private family service will take place.
Family and friends were invited to the Blyth Lions Park on Sunday, July 16 for a come-and-go celebration of Gwen’s life.
