George Snell
At Stratford General Hospital on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2024, George Snell of Westfield passed away at the age of 67.
The son of the late Jasper and Eva (Dow) Snell, George was the cherished brother of Barbara Snell of Blyth, and Ken Snell and Murray Snell, both of Westfield. George will be missed by his many cousins and their families and his aunt Elly Dow.
George was known for his dedication to helping with cattle at the Brussels sales barn, where he spent countless hours lending a hand. He was also a friendly and familiar face at Dan’s Auto Repair in Westfield.
He was always eager to connect with others; George loved to socialize and was happiest when he was surrounded by people, sharing stories, and catching up on the latest news. George also enjoyed helping on the farm whenever he could, finding joy in the simple pleasures of rural life. His weekly call list was a testament to his caring nature; he faithfully reached out to friends and family to stay connected and offer a listening ear. George faced many health challenges throughout his life, but always met them with resilience and perseverance.
Visitation was held at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham on Tuesday, Sept. 3 and again in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, Sept. 4, followed by the funeral service. A private family interment then took place at Blyth Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Clinton Public Hospital or the Westfield Fellowship Hour would be appreciated.
