George Herbert “Herb” Oakes

George Herbert “Herb” Oakes of Clinton passed away at his home on Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, three days after his 76th birthday.

 

The beloved husband and best friend of Faye for 51 years, Herb was dearly loved by sons George and the late Michael and by his special granddaughter Lillian Oakes. 

 

Herb is survived by his sister Karon Kerr, sister-in-law Wanda Weber, and by one nephew, four nieces, and many friends. He will also be missed by his four-legged buddy and companion Lincoln.

 

Friends and family were invited to a celebration of Herb’s life at the Huron Fish and Game Club, Clinton on Sunday Sept. 21.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations to the Clinton Public Hospital Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
