Fredric Stewart Uhler

Fredric Stewart Uhler passed away peacefully at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Oct. 24, in his 79th year.

 

The loving husband to Karen for 51 years, Fred was the proud father of Ann (Tim) Heinmiller of Fonthill and Darrell (Jennifer Lasenby) of Mitchell.

 

He is survived by his brother Bill (Gail) Uhler of Burlington, sister Bonnie (Randy) Gellner of Nanaimo, and sister-in-law Linda Uhler of Orleans.

 

Fred was predeceased by his parents Ernst and Martha (Stewart) and his brothers Victor and Ronald and sister-in-law Marion.
Over the years, Fred was involved with 4-H, the Huron County Junior Farmers, Ridgetown College, curling, Grey Township Council, the Brussels Agricultural Society, the Ethel and Brussels United Churches, and he was a member of the Brussels and Wingham Masonic Lodges. 

 

Fred has finally retired from farming after working the land and raising beef cattle in Grey Township for almost 60 years.
Friends and family are invited for visitation on Sunday, Nov. 5 from 2-4 p.m. with the funeral service to follow on Monday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. at Riverside Funeral Home, Brussels Chapel with Rev. Alex Jebson officiating.
Interment at Brussels Cemetery.

 

In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy, donations to the London Health Sciences Foundation or the St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation would be appreciated.
