Elmira Expos take over first place in Huron County Fastball League standings

The upstart Elmira Expos, only a few years into their Huron County Fastball League tenure, are now in first place in the standings with a record of 6-2 and 12 points.
They overtook the Belmore Stingers, who sit in second place with a record of 5-3 and 10 points, tied with the Mitchell Mets (5-2), the Sebringville Sting (5-3) and Monkton Muskrats (5-3), all three of whom are tied at 10 points with the Stingers.
In sixth place are the Walton Brewers and Brussels Bangers, tied at eight points each with 4-5 and 4-3 records, respectively.
The Brussels Tigers sit in eighth place with a record of 3-2 and six points, followed by two teams with four points each, the Fullarton A’s (2-6) and the Wroxeter/Wingham Rippers (2-5).
Tied at the bottom of the standings are the Goderich Grizzlies and the Milverton Millwrights, both of whom have a record of 1-4 and two points.
Looking back, on Sunday, July 6, the Brussels Bangers travelled to Fullarton and blanked the A’s by a score of 8-0. On July 4, the Brussels Bangers hosted the Walton Brewers and won by a score of 9-2, the Fullarton A’s lost to the Sting in Sebringville by a score of 15-1, the Monkton Muskrats beat the Mitchell Mets at home by a score of 11-4 and the Brussels Tigers beat the Grizzlies in Goderich by a score of 17-6.
On July 2, the Elmira Expos beat the Monkton Muskrats in Linwood by a score of 11-5 and the Mitchell Mets welcomed the Milverton Millwrights to town, beating them by a score of 8-4.
This week, the Brussels Tigers played the Brewers in Walton and the Sebringville Sting hosted the Milverton Millwrights, both on July 8. The next night, the Brussels Bangers were in Monkton to play the Muskrats and the Wroxeter/Wingham Rippers played the Mets in Mitchell, followed by July 10 games between the Brussels Tigers and Belmore Stingers in Belmore and the Walton Brewers and Elmira Expos in Elmira, though scores for those games were unavailable at press time.
Tonight, Friday, July 11, the Milverton Millwrights are scheduled to play the Bangers in Brussels and the Wroxeter/Wingham Rippers are due to play the Grizzlies in Goderich. On Saturday night, the Fullarton A’s will travel to Milverton to play the Millwrights and, on Sunday, the Brussels Tigers will play the Rippers in Wingham and the Elmira Expos will make the trip to Fullarton to play the A’s.
On Tuesday, July 15, the Walton Brewers will play host to the Sebringville Sting, followed by a trio of hames on July 16: the Milverton Millwrights will play the Expos in Elmira, the Walton Brewers will travel to Mitchell to play the Mets and the Brussels Tigers will host the Fullarton A’s.
On July 17, the Brussels Bangers will be in Belmore to play the Stingers, followed by a July 18 game between the Goderich Grizzlies and Monkton Muskrats in Monkton and a game in Belmore on Sunday, July 20 between the Milverton Millwrights and the Stingers.
