Edith Pearl (Cook) Walker

Peacefully at Woodstock Hospital, on Monday, July 24, 2023, Edith Pearl (Cook) Walker of Woodstock, and formerly of Wingham and Goderich, passed away in her 95th year.

 

Edith was the beloved wife of S.J. “Jack” Walker, who predeceased her on Jan. 17, 2019. They were married Dec. 10, 1947 in Belgrave. She was the loving mother of Pat Stewart (Greg) of Phoenix, Arizona, and David Walker (Stella) of Woodstock, the dear grammy of Carley and Tim Welch, Scott Stewart, Amanda Height, all of Arizona, Jennifer and Jason Church, Adam Walker (K. Leigh), all of Woodstock and the special great-grammy of eight.

 

Edith was predeceased by parents Frederick and Etta (Black) Cook, brothers Harvey Cook (Grace), and Albert Cook (Jean), sisters Margaret Robinson (Ross), Zella Crawford (Ernie), and Alice Nicholson (Garner), parents-in-law Russel and Agnes (Stonehouse) Walker, and sister-in-law Dawna Sproule (Bob).

 

Visitation was held at McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham (formerly S.J. Walker Funeral Home) on Wednesday, July 26. The funeral service was held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, July 27. Interment will take place in Wingham Cemetery. A reception followed at the Wingham United Church.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of choice would be appreciated.
