Doug Kemp

At his home on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2023, Doug Kemp of Wingham, passed away, surrounded by his family, at the age of 58.

 

The loving husband of Judy (Sholdice) Kemp of 37 years, Doug was the devoted dad of Jessica and Ian, Brandi-Lee, Justine, Allyson and Will, Kerri and Aaron Wolfe, and Daniel and Kaylin.

 

He was the special Poppa of Rylie, Skylar, Oaklee, Nevaeh, Tyson, Savanna, Sophia, Lucie, Huntleigh, Roddy, Kobi, Ez, Kylo, Arianna and his beloved grand-pups, Blue, Charlie and Rodium. 

 

He was the dear brother of Patti and Darrell Parsons, Steve and Joy Line, Sandy and Greg Simpson and Dave Line and best friend of Tom McIlwrick and Gord White. Doug was the son-in-law of Gary Sholdice, brother-in-law of Paul Sholdice and Mark and Debbie Sholdice. Doug will be lovingly remembered by his nieces and nephews and their families. 

 

Doug was predeceased by his parents, Robert Kemp and Andrena and Ron Line, mother-in-law Barb Sholdice, bonus son Rod Adams and uncle Bruce Ruddy. 

 

Doug’s spirit will forever live on through his children, grandchildren and all the lives he touched throughout his many years of coaching and his love of sports.

 

A celebration of life was held Thursday, Aug. 17 at the Wingham Knights of Columbus Centre.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to a trust fund set up to allow his grandchildren to continue their sports.
