Dorothy (Watt) McNichol
Dorothy (Watt) McNichol of Seaforth passed away peacefully at Huron Hospice on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 in her 100th year.
The beloved wife of the late Glen McNichol (2005), Dorothy was the cherished mom of Joyce and Bob Brown of Port Stanley, Nancy and Steve Szabo of Brantford, and Beth and Harold Van Doornik of Seaforth.
She was the proud grandma of Tammy (Steve), Tracy (Kenny), Tawnya; Lisa (Dave); Sarah (Mike), Becky (Coleson), and Eric (Cassie) and great-grandma of Tyler, Isaac, Andrew, Aaron, Mack, Austin, Cooper, Wyatt, Emmett, Carter, Paige, and Theo.
Dorothy was the dear sister of Auldeen Stacey and sister-in-law of Mary Watt.
She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Islay Watt, brother and sister-in-law Bob and Audrey Watt, brother Tom Watt, brother-in-law Wendell Stacey and Glen’s siblings and their spouses; Ralph and Anna McNichol, Mildred and Tom Petley, Wilma and Roy Wildfong, and Carmetta and Con Hayes.
Dorothy was a talented quilter, creating many beautiful pieces that she shared with her family. She enjoyed her time clogging with her friends, playing a good card game or a round of bingo. In her earlier years, she shared her talents of canning. Together she and Glen travelled south for over 25 years after retiring from the farm in McKillop Township. Dorothy was always up for day trips and going to various places.
Above all, she cherished her time spent with her family and always made sure to celebrate holidays and birthdays with them.
Visitation will be held at Haskett Funeral Home, Seaforth on Friday, July 12 from 12 - 1:30 p.m., where Dorothy’s funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Cremation to follow with interment at Brussels Cemetery.
