Dorothy Beatrice “Bea” Seili née Ives

Dorothy Beatrice “Bea” Seili née Ives passed away peacefully at Huronlea Home for the Aged on Sunday, Aug. 25 in her 89th year.

 

The beloved wife of the late Ellwood (2019) for 64 years, Bea was the loving mom of Joe and Debbie and Jane and Larry of Brussels, Jim and Stacey of Wasaga Beach and Jeff and Michele of Listowel.

 

Bea was the grandma of 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was the sister of Murray Loop and Jane Pursel and she predeceased by the late Judy Latronico.

 

Bea was predeceased by her parents, Harold and Dorothy Ives, brother Tom and Mary Ives, sister-in-law Ethel Loop, and daughter-in-law Karen.

 

Bea was a force to be reckoned with, she was a hard-working farmer and mother and ran a tight ship at home. Bea liked the domestic things in life and worked for the Red Cross doing home care, helping others keep their homes tidy. She was the president of the Huronlea Residents Council for 10 years, always ready to fight for residents’ rights. She loved to chat and was always up for a conversation. Her feisty personality will be missed.

 

A private family visitation and service will be held. Interment will be in Brussels Cemetery.

 

Friends are invited to a casual celebration of life at the Brussels Legion on Wednesday, Sept. 4 from 1-3 p.m.

 

In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy, donations to the Huronlea Residents’ Council would be appreciated.
