Don Fischer

Don Fischer, formerly of Brussels and Kincardine, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2020 at the age of 72.

 

Don was the beloved husband of Mary Fischer and the late Jeanne Fischer and the loving father of Laurie Raynard, Steven Fischer and stepfather of Shannon Gregory (Chris) and the late Shelley Tighe.  He was the proud papa of Alex (Phil), Josh, Emma, Brielle, Ty and Owen and the caring brother of Murray (Connie), Rae (Nancy), Mary Anne (Brian), and Nancy (John). Don was the brother-in-law of Bob (Theresa), Don (Cathy), Bill (Brenda) and Chrissie and the wonderful uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Mary and Hartley Fischer. 

 

Don was the special friend of Shirley and Vern. He will be greatly missed by Macie, his dog and Sadie the cat.

 

Don enjoyed his time at the cottage on Lake Huron where he spent countless hours working on his gardens. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and enjoyed a few rum and cokes in the evenings.

 

Private visitation was held by invite-only due to COVID-19 restrictions at the Riverside Funeral Home, Brussels.

A graveside funeral service was held on Sunday, Dec. 20 at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Ethel.

 

In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy, donations in memory of Don are asked to consider the Shelley and Maggie Angel Fund through the Queen Street Veterinary Services in Kincardine.
