Darwin Anthony Ducharme
The family of Darwin Anthony Ducharme, of Brussels is mourning his tragic passing on March 29, 2022. We have also lost his loving partner Beverly Stevenson.
Darwin was born on June 23, 1956, at Seaforth Hospital and lived in the Brussels area all his life. He is survived by two daughters Traci Ducharme (Jared Harkness) and Lisa Ducharme (Chad Armstrong).
Darwin was the loving papa of Jadin, Conner, Anne-Marie, Emily, Morgann, and Roman. He was the cherished brother of Patricia Keffer (Larry), Bluevale; Les Ducharme (Frieda), Sherwood Park, Alberta; Sharon Berry, Stratford and Barb Laidlaw (Jerry), Atwood and the brother-in-law of Dorothea Ducharme, Brussels. He is survived by many nieces, nephews, aunt and friends.
Darwin was predeceased by his parents Urban and Margaret Ducharme (née McKenzie), brothers Oscar, Dennis, Larry, twin sister Darlene and brother-in-law Gordon Berry.
Darwin was a dedicated employee of Royal Homes for 38 years and was remarkable in his role as warehouse manager in Wingham. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, siblings and friends. He pursued many interests, giving back to the community, church. He was always known for his generosity in helping people and always going the extra mile. He enjoyed his many travels and cruising – especially the Caribbean and Cuba. Darwin and Bev enjoyed snowmobiling and visiting their family and friends. Darwin had a passion for hockey as a player for many years and was a loyal supporter of the Toronto Maple Leafs. His favourite relaxing time was watching hockey and having debates with his brother Les.
He will always be remembered and hold a special place in the hearts of family and friends who loved him.
Friends and family were received at Riverside Funeral Home, Brussels for visitation on Friday, April 8. Catholic Church Mass was held at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Brussels, on Saturday, April 9. Father Ross Bartley officiated.
In lieu of flowers and as expressions of sympathy, donations to Diabetes Canada, The Canadian Mental Health Association or Big Brothers and Sisters of Canada would be appreciated.
