Brussels Optimists gross over $70,000 at auction, award two life memberships

Two members of the Brussels Optimist Club were presented with lifetime memberships at the beginning of last Saturday night’s annual spring auction and dinner. Long-time Optimist Doug McArter, centre, made the presentation to Steve Knight, left, and Mike Thomas ahead of the club making over $70,000 in its auction, the proceeds from which will benefit new playground equipment at North Woods Elementary School.     (John Stephenson photo)
