Brussels Bangers win first all-Brussels face-off over Tigers as fastball season continues

The Belmore Stingers remain in first place in the Huron County Fastball League standings, but the Sebringville Sting and Monkton Muskrats are closing the gap, with both sitting just two points back from the league leaders.
The Belmore Stingers have a record of 5-2 and 10 points to lead the league, followed by the Sting and the Muskrats, who each have records of 4-2 and eight points each.
The Mitchell Mets are in third place with a record of 3-1 and six points, followed by the fifth-place Walton Brewers who also have six points and a record of 3-4.
The Brussels Tigers and Elmira Expos are then tied for sixth place with identical 2-2 records and four points each, followed by the Fullarton A’s and the Brussels Bangers, who are tied for eighth place with records of 2-3 and four points each.
In 10th place, the Goderich Grizzlies have a record of 1-3 and two points, followed by the Milverton Millwrights in 11th place with a record of 1-2 and two points and the last-place Wroxeter/Wingham Rippers with a record of 1-4 and two points.
Looking back on the week that was, on June 22, the Walton Brewers beat the A’s in Fullarton by a score of 13-7 and the Sebringville Sting beat the Rippers in Wroxeter by a score of 9-2. One day earlier, on June 21, the Monkton Muskrats beat the Wroxeter/Wingham Rippers by a score of 13-6 in Monkton.
On June 20, the Bangers beat the Tigers by a score of 8-5 in the first all-Brussels match-up of the season. Also that day, the Sebringville Sting beat the Walton Brewers by a score of 9-3 in Sebringville and the Goderich Grizzlies hosted the Monkton Muskrats, but fell by a score of 5-1.
On June 19, the Mitchell Mets beat the Millwrights in Milverton by a score of 12-7. Three games were scheduled for June 18, but they were all postponed due to the rain: the Brussels Bangers in Wingham to play the Rippers, the Goderich Grizzlies travelling to Linwood to play the Elmira Expos and the Brussels Tigers hosting the Mitchell Mets.
The Sebringville Sting hosted the Belmore Stingers on June 17, but it was the Stingers who won the game by a score of 21-10.
On June 24, the Wroxeter/Wingham Rippers were scheduled to play the Brewers in Walton, but a score for that game was unavailable at press time.
There are four games scheduled for June 25: the Goderich Grizzlies against the Wroxeter/Wingham Rippers in Wingham, the Elmira Expos hosting the Sebringville Sting, the Brussels Tigers welcoming the Belmore Stingers to the village and the Mitchell Mets hosting the Monkton Muskrats. The Milverton Millwrights are also scheduled to host the Elmira Expos on June 26, but scores for those five games were unavailable at press time.
Looking ahead, tonight, in Brussels, the Bangers will host the Mitchell Mets in the last game before a short break for Canada Day. On July 2, the Elmira Expos will host the Monkton Muskrats in Linwood and the Mitchell Mets will host the Milverton Millwrights.
There are four games scheduled for Friday, July 4: the Brussels Bangers hosting the Walton Brewers, the Sebringville Sting hosting the Fullarton A’s, the Mitchell Mets travelling to Monkton to play the Muskrats, and the Brussels Tigers making their way to Goderich to play the Grizzlies.
