Brian Halliday

Brian Halliday of Kitchener, formerly of Apsley, passed away at AgeCare West Williams, Kitchener, on July 5, 2024. He was in his 90th year. 

 

The beloved husband of Verna Halliday, Brian was the loving father of Kelda Halliday, Laurie Halliday and Kimberley Woods (Gord), stepdaughters Connie Chomicki, Cathy MacLean (Doug) and stepsons John Gibbings (Bonnie), and Paul Gibbings (Ellen). 

 

Brian will be missed by his grandchildren Melinda Brito (Gary), James Rego (Sarah), Matthew Pellerin, Jennifer Hall (Darryl) and his great-grandchildren Sophia Brito, Kayden Rego, Cohen Rego, and Hunter Hall. 

 

He is survived by his sisters Daisy Whitmore, Judith Voisin (David), Mina Coons (Jim), brother-in-law Elmer Lean and many nieces and nephews. 

 

Brian was predeceased by his parents Robert and Janet Halliday, sister Elizabeth Lean and brother Daniel Halliday, sister-in-law Sylvia Halliday, brothers in law Hubert Baumhour, Chuck Benns, Hazen Whitmore and step son-in-law Vite Chomicki. 

 

Family and friends were invited to attend visitation at The Hendren Funeral Homes’ Lakefield Chapel on Tuesday July 9 and a funeral service was held on Wednesday July 10 at the Apsley Community Church. Interment will be in Apsley Union Cemetery.
