Bonnie (MacKenzie) Johnston
At Victoria Hospital, London on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026, Bonnie (MacKenzie) Johnston of Bluevale passed away at the age of 76.
The beloved wife of Keith Johnston, Bonnie was the loving mom of Donna and Gord Stute of Brussels, Carla and Rob Moorehead of Stratford, and the late David Johnston, and mother-in-law of Kim Johnston and Ryan Courtney of Bluevale.
She was the adored grandma of Cody Stute, Ryan and Regan Stute, Megan and Dawson Currie, Tyler Layton and Camryn Talbot, Jacob Layton, Megan Moorehead and Ryan McLeish, Cooper Moorehead and Cindy Huynh, Myles Johnston and Megan Metske, Lola Johnston, Kipp Johnston, and Brycen Courtney, and the great-grandma of Colton and Lilly Stute.
Bonnie was the sister of Gordon and Carol MacKenzie, and Cathy and Pete Robson, and sister-in-law of Ruth MacKenzie, Marie and Neil McGavin, and Terry and Theresa Johnston. She will also be sadly missed by her beloved cat, Sophie.
Bonnie was predeceased by her parents, Donald and Etta MacKenzie, Keith’s parents, Carl and Florence Johnston, and her brother Gerald MacKenzie.
Bonnie shared 54 wonderful years of marriage with her husband Keith. It was a partnership built on love, devotion and unwavering commitment. Together, they created a life rich in family, memories, and quiet joys.
She found great happiness in tending to her gardens and her cats, each one a cherished companion that brought her comfort and delight. Bonnie poured her heart into the beautiful quilts and handcrafted treasures she made, stitching together not only fabric, but also warmth, care, and love. Her quilts, given to family and friends, will remain lasting reminders of her gentle spirit and generous heart.
A celebration of Bonnie’s life will be held at Wingham Sportsmen’s Club on Sunday, March 15 from 1-4 p.m. with words of remembrance at 2 p.m.
Interment will take place in the spring at Wingham Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the London Health Sciences Foundation would be appreciated, and may be made though McBurney Funeral Home, Wingham.
