Blyth Brussels U9 MD Crusaders head to regional Silver Stick this weekend

This weekend, the U9 MD Blyth Brussels Crusaders will be in Parkhill for their regional Silver Stick Tournament, beginning with the first game of the whole tournament on Friday morning against the Lambton Shores Predators.
The team will be back in action again the next morning with a game against the Central Perth Predators, followed by another game that evening against the Dresden Junior Kings.
On Sunday, the first- and second-place teams in each of the two pools will go at it in semi-final action with the championship game scheduled for 2:30 p.m.
In regular season action tonight, Friday, Jan. 17, the U15 Rep team will play the Huron-Bruce Blizzard in Lucknow and the U13 LL team will play the Drayton Defenders, also on the road.
The next day, the U6 team will play the Howick Hornets on the road and the U9 LL Crusaders will play an exhibition game with Central Perth, also on the road.
Also that day, the U11 LL team will play the Drayton Defenders Black team, the U8 Burgundy and White teams will play a pair of Huron-Bruce Blizzard teams, the U11 LL team will play an exhibition game with the Minto Mad Dogs and the U7 Burgundy and White teams will play a pair of Mid-Huron Huskies teams, all on the road.
On Sunday, the Crusaders are back at home, with the U6 team hosting the Mitchell Meteors and the U11 Rep team playing the AEMHA Ice Dogs, both in Blyth.
The next night, the U15 LL Crusaders will host the Mitchell Meteors in Blyth and the U18 Rep team, hot off of its tournament win, will also play the Meteors, but in Mitchell.
On Tuesday, the U11 LL team will play the Huron-Bruce Blizzard White team in Lucknow, followed by two games in Blyth on Wednesday, Jan. 22: the U13 LL team playing the Mid-Huron Huskies and the U18 LL team playing the Huron-Bruce Blizzard Grey team.
Then, on Thursday, Jan. 23, the U13 Rep team will play the Minto Mad Dogs in Palmerston, followed by Friday, Jan. 24 games between the U8 Burgundy and White teams and two Goderich Sailors teams, the U11 Rep team and the Mitchell Meteors and the U21 team and the Walkerton Capitals, all in Brussels.
Looking back, on Monday, Jan. 13, the U13 Rep Crusaders lost to the Central Perth Predators on the road by a score of 4-1. One day earlier, the U21 team lost to the Mid-Huron Huskies in Clinton and the U15 Rep team tied the Drayton Defenders at two, also on the road.
Also on the weekend, the U6, U7 Burgundy and White and U8 Burgundy and White teams were all in Listowel for the annual Wallace Jamboree.
Last Saturday, the U11 LL Crusaders took part in the Minto U11 LL Tournament in Palmerston, beginning with a 5-2 loss at the hands of the host Minto Mad Dogs, followed by a 17-0 shutout loss to Arthur.
In regular season action that day, the U9 MD Crusaders beat the Huron-Bruce Blizzard in Brussels by a score of 5-1, while the U13 LL team lost to the Mid-Huron Huskies in Brussels by a score of 4-0, the U15 LL Crusaders lost to the Kincardine Kinucks by a score of 9-2, also in Brussels, and the U18 Rep team fell to the Minto Mad Dogs in Brussels by a score of 7-2.
The only game on the schedule for Friday, Jan. 10 was the U21 team welcoming the Shelburne Wolves to Brussels and the home team lost that contest by a score of 3-0.
Back on Jan 7, the U13 Rep team lost to the Minto Mad Dogs in Brussels by a score of 12-2, while the U18 LL team lost by a score of 5-2 to the Huron-Bruce Blizzard White team in Ripley. And on Monday, Jan. 6, the U18 Rep team lost to the Huron-Bruce Blizzard in Lucknow by a score of 4-2.
