BBMHA Day another success, despite World Series scheduling conflict

It was a fun weekend for the Blyth Brussels Crusaders as another BBMHA Day has come and gone, though this one had the unfortunate fate of coming on the same day at game seven of the World Series.
On Saturday, Nov. 1 at the Brussels, Morris and Grey Community Centre, as part of BBMHA Day, the U9 LL Crusaders took on the Mid-Huron-Huskies and the U8 Burgundy team played the Wallace Sabres, though scores for those games were not kept. Then, the U9 MD Crusaders lost by a score of 4-1 to the Drayton Defenders and the U13 team fell to the Wingham Ironmen Blue team by a score of 2-0.
In the afternoon, the U15 team won big over the Mount Forest Rams, beating them by a score of 12-3. The U6 team then played the Huron-Bruce Blizzard, but a score wasn’t kept for that game, and then the U21 team was shutout by the Huron-Bruce Blizzard by a score of 6-0.
The Wingham Ironmen then beat the Mitchell Hawks by a score of 5-1 in Provincial Junior Hockey League action to end the night. The start time was moved up to allow everyone to watch the World Series, meaning an alumni game between past Brussels Bulls and Wingham Ironmen was postponed. It will be played at a later date that has yet to be determined.
Away from Blyth and Brussels that day, the U8 White team played the Mid-Huron Huskies in Clinton and the U7 Burgundy and White teams played a pair of Mid-Huron Huskies teams, also in Clinton, but scores were not kept for those games. The U11 Burgundy Crusaders were in Mitchell to play the Meteors Black team and lost by a score of 3-1.
On Wednesday, Oct. 29, the U15 Crusaders beat the Listowel Cyclones in Blyth by a score of 5-2 and the U13 Crusaders beat the Mitchell Meteors Yellow team on the road by a score of 6-3. Then, back on Monday, Oct. 27, the U18 team beat the Central Perth Predators on the road by a score of 9-4.
On Sunday, Nov. 2, the locals lost all four games on the schedule. The U11 Burgundy team fell to the Thunder in Zurich 5-0, the U13 team lost to the Wingham Ironmen Yellow team 5-4, the U11 Black Crusaders hosted the Mid-Huron Huskies in Blyth and lost 12-1 and the U18 team lost to the Mitchell Meteors Black team 4-0. Also that day, the U9 LL Crusaders played the Mitchell Meteors Black team on the road, but a score was not kept for that game.
On Tuesday, Nov. 4, the U18 team hosted the Mid-Huron Huskies in Brussels and on Wednesday, Nov. 5, the U9 MD team was in Bayfield to play the Mid-Huron Huskies, but scores for those games were unavailable at press time.
Looking ahead, tonight, Friday, Nov. 7, the U21 team will host the Mid-Huron Huskies in Brussels. The next day, the U7 White team will play the Wallace Sabres on the road and the U8 Burgundy and White teams will play a pair of Mid-Huron Huskies teams in Seaforth.
On Sunday, Nov. 9, the U9 MD team will play the Thunder in Zurich, the U15 team will play the Kinucks 2 team in Kincardine and the U21 team will play the Wolves in Shelburne.
The U11 Burgundy team will be in Mitchell to play the Meteors Yellow team on Monday, Nov. 10, the same day the U13 team will host the Kincardine Kinucks 1 team in Blyth and the U15 team will play the Mid-Huron Huskies in Seaforth.
On Remembrance Day, the U18 team will host the Zurich Thunder in Brussels, followed by a game with the Listowel Cyclones on the road the next day.
