Audrey Johnston

Audrey Johnston of Bluevale, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family at Stratford General Hospital on Thursday, July 21, 2022. She was 78.

 

Audrey was the devoted wife of Murray Johnston and the adored mom of Valerie and Mike Watson, Brussels; Debbie and Jason Kerley, Chepstow; Bruce and Dawn Johnston, Brussels, and Ian and Laura Johnston, Brussels. 

 

She was the cherished grandma of Lindsay and Craig, Andrew and John Mark, Zach and Chey, Nathan and Chelsea, Nicole and Gary, Alexa and Bobby, Zane, Damen and Lauren, Amber and Jared, Jordan and Kyle, Jamee and Mike, Jess and Jake, Jordyn and Jacob, Ashley and Logan, Brookelynn and Braden and Simon and the great-grandma of Wesley, Madeline, Emerson, Jack, Addison, Archer, Augustus and Keegan. 

 

Audrey was the sister of Dave and Rosemary Wheeler and the sister-in-law of Shirley Nicholson and Bessie Johnston. Audrey will be deeply missed by her large extended family. 

 

Awaiting her in Heaven with open arms and a hug is her grandson Lucas Braun (2017). She is also predeceased by her parents John “Jack” and Mildred Wheeler, and brothers-in-law Ross Nicholson, Gerry Johnston, Ken Johnston and Glen Johnston.

 

The funeral service was held on Wednesday, July 27 at the Wingham Knights of Columbus Centre. Interment took place at Wingham Cemetery. Following the ceremony and burial, a celebration of Audrey’s life was held at Ian and Laura Johnston’s home.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Wingham and District Hospital Foundation or the Brussels Arena would be appreciated.
